TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

My goal is to provide people with the tools they need to best express themselves musically.  Students focus on great tone production, technical studies, and the standard repertoire including orchestra and chamber music.

In addition, I use basic music theory concepts and an understanding of the historical context of a given piece of music as regards its form, structure, and emotional expression.

I also enjoy sharing my insights and practical experience from 20 years as a working musician in NYC and I encourage students to participate in frequent performances, workshops, masterclasses and ensemble performances.
